The Children Around the Table of Allah This book is a collection of stories and sayings of some of the early Sufis, the people of Tasawwuf, who followed the path of the inner knowledge (marifa) of Allah, the Exalted. Each of them bore witness to whatever his Lord wanted to make manifest of Himself through them in the world. They were patient and trusting, ridding themselves of the comforts and benefits of the material world (dunya) in order to purify their selves (nufus) and their hearts to live only for their Beloved Allah. They persevered through the many difficulties and sometimes misfortunes, which they had to face in the annihilation of themselves. This is the real food and the real drink from this deep source of the love and wisdom of God. This is the true food for all who love Allah, seeking only His face. A profound explanation of the meanings of the Names of Allah introduce this teaching from the lives of the Friends of Allah, Uwais al-Qarani, Malik ibn Dinar, Habib ibn Isa ibn Muhammad al-Ajami, Shaqiq ibn Ibrahim al-Balkhi al-`Azdi, Rabi`a al-Adawiyya, al-Fadil ibn `Ayyad ibn Mas`ud at-Tamimi al-Maliki, Bishr al-Hafi, Abu Sulayman ad-Darani, Ma`ruf al-Karkhial-Harith al-Mahasibi, Hatim al-Asam, Abu Bakr ash-Shibli, Sahl at-Tastari, and Dhu Nun Abu Ibrahim al-Misri. Two discourses from the those early glorious days are also included: Eternal Stopping Places and The Compassion of the Sufi.
The Children of the Truth This book serves as a means for ordering and linking together the lives and sayings of our Masters and those blessed beings who lived in the time following the death of the Prophet Muhammad, prayers and peace be upon him, whose lives were examples of the Love of Allah made manifest in this world. These were the earliest of the People of Tassawuf (the knowledge of the Sufi Path) when to be a true Sufi, as one of them said, "Was to be a Reality without a name." Whereas in our day, to be a Sufi has become a name without a Reality.

The Taste of the Love "These are sayings that lead to similar meanings about the fruits and the description of love, because love cannot be expressed in any way by words or signs, except by those who have tasted it. However the ones who taste it do not speak of it, because they are so much a part of it. Just like one who is intoxicated if we asked him to give a clear statement about the drink he has had, he will not be able to do so until he wakes up. The difference between he who is intoxicated and he who is a lover is that the first is temporary and the second is eternal. As was said, "The drunk will wake up and the drink of love will keep you drunk forever." True limitation is only associated with a limited structure with physical limitations, whereas this love has no physical barrier."
Al-Wird Ash-Shadhdhuliyyah In order to know the spirit of our Master, the Saint of Allah, may Allah have mercy upon him, it is necessary to look into his Wazifa which we have included in this book with the ritual ablution and prayer, since it is an exercise of deep spiritual importance and strength coming from the Spirit of the Prophet Muhammad, may peace and blessings be upon him, to the heart of his saint, to give light and knowledge of himself to all those who would follow him in his way, and it is the only piece of writing from the hand of Sidi `Abd as-Salam ibn Mashish which is available for us to study. Our Shaykh, may Allah be pleased with him, has unveiled for us, in his Explanation to the Wazifa many of the hidden meanings of this revelation.

The Meaning of the Names of Our Lord In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful bi-smi llahi ar-rahmani ar-rahim. The names by which Allah is known can be divided into categories. Traditionally the first two categories are the names of the essence (adh-dhat), such as Allah and ar-Rahman, and the names of the qualities (as-safat) such as ar-Rahim and al-Bari. And they can be divided further into names of the Mercy, and names of the Majesty. But the name Allah called the Supreme Name stands alone. There is a hadith which says, To God belongs ninety-nine names. So that while any two lists add up to more than ninety-nine, any one list is limited to this number. The names are revealed directly in al-Quran, or from the meaning given in certain passages, or they are names that are traditionally known, but are not in al-Quran. Some names are found derived from the Arabic grammar of the names in Al-Quran, but they are not widely accepted, for example, al-Ghaffar from al-Ghafur.
The Meadow of Poetic Truths The Diwan of Shaykh Muhammad Said al-Jamal ar-Rifa`i ash-Shadhuli is in the tradition of the mystics of Islam and to understand his teachings and his poetry, it is necessary to enter his world, the world of al-Islam, the real Islam, the religion of the Unity of the Prophet Muhammad, may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, who brought the light and the mercy to all, and to surrender to the Light of the religion in the path of the Sufi way that was taken by all the beloveds who have come before. This Diwan is presented to all his beloveds especially in this country so that they can taste from the secrets of the reality and return to be what He created them to be from the beginning.

Not Yet Available | The Breath of the Trutha translation by Maryam Muhammad Abdullah of nafahat al-haqq by Fatima al-Yashruti I will speak about my Master in returning to the days of my deeply happy childhood; for I was born and grew up in the noble zawiyyah in the town of Aka and witnessed the shining lights and heard all the knowledge and saw the standing, bowing down and prostrating of those remembering Allah, standing, bowing and on their sides in living with my Master, my father (may Allah hallow his secret), both in his everyday and his special life. And I am not able to bring to life the beauty of what I saw and heard; nor am I able to describe the Divine revelations which pervaded and were diffused from the existence of his secret by the lights of those manifestations of Muhammadan holiness. This was the existence of the sublime Yashruti Breath which never ceases to perfume the atmosphere of Sufi existence, in the Breath of the Mighty, and the supreme and wonderful horizon. The Messenger of Allah (salla allahu alayhi wa-salam) said in the noble hadith, Surely your Lord is in the days of your time in the breath which you extend to Him. I have gathered together this holy fragrance from the ahadith and wisdoms and warnings which were revealed to the heart of my Master, my great father, and with which he favoured and blessed the students of the Family of Allah, and with which I had taken and nourished myself from the greatness and might of the Promise (bayah) of the Family of Allah those who follow the Shadhdhuli Yashruti Path from him, and who confirm it by their actions, and who travel on it in the stations and states. For they bring together actions and knowledge of both the Sacred Law (ash-shar&ah) and the Reality, and who reach the clear victory, for they are the sincere slaves of Allah. Sidi Ali Nur ad-din al-Yashruti lived to be over a hundred years of age. After his death the station of the Qutb and Ghawth passed to his son Ibrahim (radiyallahu anhu). After Sidi Ibrahims death it passed to Sidi Abdu-r-Rahman Abu-l-Arish of Syria, who was the master of Sidi al-Jamal ar-Rifai ash-Shadhdhuli who is the present Qutb and Ghawth of the Shadhdhuli Path to Allah, and who lives in Jerusalem in the Holy Land of Palestine, and who is a teacher at the Aqsa Mosque. |
